The Eve of a 12-Week Challenge

July 31, 2011

Oh my. I just took my full body photographs for the Body for Life 12 week challenge. My first reaction was horror. Then I recalled that I promised myself to embrace the principles of the law of attraction, so I calmed myself and while examining these photographs I said to myself, I am so grateful for the start of this challenge. I can’t wait to have my real body back!

I’m feeling a bit intimidated and excited. I am hungry for the changes. I won’t lament the challenges. In reality, I am committing to no more than an hour a day of physical exertion. I am also committing to eating the right quantities of quality foods. The payoff? Great health and my real body back! It’s like I said this afternoon – 12 weeks is going to roll past me anyway, I may as well make the most of it.

One of the motivators to do this now – besides losing my real body somewhere along the line and wanting to rediscover it – was to get in shape for the Disney Half Marathon. I want to have a great time doing it! Along the way, I have a paddleboard lesson to accomplish. I’d like to wear a bathing suit for that activity without embarrassment. I have been blessed with good body tone and as I age it’s holding up well. As I redefine myself physically, I think I can pull this off. I can’t wait!!

My 12 week challenge begins on August 1, 2011. It will conclude by my wedding anniversary and lay the way for a wonderful race in January! As I’ve said often, 2011 is my year of recovery!! Okay, the photo session is over. The truth is now documented. My journey back to my real body is underway!

My plan for tomorrow is to plan my meals and snacks, and do my 1st run of the season as my cardio session to launch my 12 weeks! I’m counting on my renewed focus on well-being to also provide a framework to accomplish my projects as well. I have two very important sewing projects to complete, and innumerable ideas for the “next one” as well.

Here we go. The first day of the rest of my life by way of a 12 week challenge.
